Chalet and Log Cabin Rentals

These privately-owned Great Smoky Mountain log cabins and chalets usually serve as vacation homes for the owners for several weeks a year. The rest of the time they’re available for vacation rental. You benefit from their choice location (mountain views or streamside), privacy, and a full kitchen which gives the option of preparing your own meals. Another benefit includes the capacity of some to sleep up to 16 people. All have amenities such as Jacuzzi jetted hot tub, wood-burning fireplace, satellite or cable TV, and barbeque grill. Larger groups such as family reunions or weddings can be accommodated by reserving adjacent homes.

Average Cost: $135 / night (In Season)

Motels and Hotels

Both luxury and economy options are available for rental on the parkway in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and other major city thoroughfares, or in quieter, more secluded settings within minutes of all shopping and recreational activities of the Smoky Mtns area. Amenities can usually include a pool, laundry, game room, and fitness center.

Vacation Rentals by Owner

Smoky Mountain, Cosby, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Townsend, Tennessee vacation rentals offered directly from the owner.

Tennessee Smokies Bed and Breakfast and Country Inns

There has been a dramatic rise in preference for Great Smoky Mountain B&B accommodations in the past few years. One reason for this growth is because the innkeeper pampers the guest. As the name implies, the price includes breakfast, which can range from the continental style to a full country breakfast. The innkeeper always has excellent recommendations for local dining, recreational activities, and sightseeing. Rod’s Guide includes a directory of B&Bs in the Smokies and Southern Highlands area.

Average Cost: About $125 / night per couple (In Season)

Condominiums

Condos are available for rental on the parkway in Gatlinburg and other major city thoroughfares or in quieter more secluded settings within minutes of all shopping and recreational activities of the Smoky Mtns area. Amenities can usually include pool, laundry, game room, and fitness center.

LeConte Lodge

LeConte Lodge, the highest inn providing lodging for visitors in the East (and the only real lodging in the Smoky Mountains National Park), can accommodate an average of 45 guests per night, and normally fills up a year in advance. The only way to get to the lodge is to hike—five major trails drape the mountain, the most scenic and popular of which is the Alum Cave Bluff Trail.

Nightly Charge: $80 / visitor (Includes dinner & breakfast)

Campgrounds

Inexpensive and casual, these facilities cater to tent campers, RV owners, or a combination of both. Rod’s Guide features a directory of all types, and also includes a special section adapted from Johnny Molloy’s suggestions from his new guide “The Best in Tent Camping: Smoky Mountains”.

Average Cost: $8 / night for tent sites
