Horseback Riding, Horse Camps, and Arabian Horse Stables in the Great Smoky Mountains
Throughout the Great Smoky Mountain National Park there are at least five drive-in horse camps with immediate access to backcountry horseback riding trails in the Smokies. They are located at Cataloochee, Round Bottom, Big Creek, and Tow String in North Carolina and closer to home at Cades Cove in Tennessee. For reservations, call 865.436.1231. The horse-stall fee is $3. In addition, Big Creek charges a $10 per site camping fee.
From mid-March to mid-November horseback riding is available and rates run $15 per hour. For additional information about a specific trail or area call the following numbers:
